KARACHI, Oct 23 (APP): Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqar, taking notice of the 385 juvenile offenders in different jails of Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur, on Monday directed the provincial Law Department to take steps to ensure legal assistance for these inmates.
The CM issued the directive after the media reported that 385 juvenile offenders, were facing imprisonment including 168 17-years-old, 106-16-years-old, 100-18-years-old, eight 15-years-old, two 14-years-old and one 13-years-old in jails.
The Chief Minister directed the Law dept to provide free legal assistance to juvenile offenders and keep him sending day-to-day reports.
