CM Monitoring Directorate chief reviews public welfare initiatives

SARGODHA, Jan 16 (APP):Chairperson of the Punjab Chief Minister’s Surveillance and Monitoring Directorate Brig (retd) Babar Alauddin (Sitara-e-Imtiaz Military) visited Sargodha on Thursday as part of his inspection tour and reviewed the public welfare initiatives.
Upon arrival, he met Commissioner Sargodha Division Jahanzeb Awan and Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Muhammad Wasim to review progress of public welfare initiatives under the Punjab Chief Minister’s directives.
He chaired a performance review meeting of federal and provincial departments at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room.
Addressing the meeting, Babar Alauddin highlighted the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s commitment to public service, urging officials to ensure relief to citizens by promoting transparency, accountability, and public awareness of legal rights.
He praised landmark welfare programs such as the Himmat Card, Apni Chhat Apna Ghar, Suthra Punjab, Kisan Card, solar panel distribution, livestock card, and green tractor scheme, emphasizing their role in uplifting communities.
The chairperson also reviewed ongoing development projects in Sargodha and instructed their timely and uncompromised completion. He remarked that Punjab is setting a model for good governance and reforms across all sectors.
Referring to health advancements, he announced construction of a state-of-the-art Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Hospital in Sargodha, which aligns with the government’s vision to establish cardiology units at every district headquarters within three years.
Addressing the challenges of the digital age, Brigadier (retd) Babar Alauddin stressed the dangers of fake news and urged officials to promptly counter misinformation to safeguard national security. DC Capt (retd) Muhammad Waseem provided a comprehensive briefing on the administrative framework and ongoing projects in the district.
Later, Babar Alauddin inaugurated the spring plantation drive by planting a sapling at the DC office lawns. DC Sargodha Muhammad Wasim, DG PHA Muhammad Arshad, ADC (Revenue) Fahad Mahmood, and officials from the Forestry Department were also present.
