CM Maryam likely to lay foundation stone of metro bus orange line project after Eid

FAISALABAD, Feb 26 (APP):In line with the vision of CM Punjab, at least 27 metro buses/2 trams are ready to run on the 21.3 km long metro bus orange line route from Faisal Town, Jaranwala Road to Tahirpura, Jhang Road shortly.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will lay the foundation stone of the project immediately after Eid-ul-Fitr.
This was disclosed by the Member Punjab Mass Transit Authority/Former Chief Secretary Punjab Cap (Retd) Zahid Saeed while chairing a meeting with Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar here on Thursday.
It was informed in the meeting that PC-1 of the mega project has been approved at a cost of Rs 80 billion and 21 stations including two depots and 6 U-turns will be constructed on the Metro Bus-Orange Line route.
Zahid Saeed said that the Metro/Tram Orange Line service would be a great facility for the citizens, as thousands of people will enjoy this facility daily.
He urged for completing all arrangements such as safety measures on construction sites, and alternative traffic routes for the uninterrupted flow of traffic.
The departments including WASA, FESCO, Sui-gas, PHA, Municipal Corporation, Traffic Police and PTCL have been instructed to complete their survey and provide demand notices for the transfer of utility services as per the arrangements within 10 days.
Deputy Commissioner Cap (retd) Nadeem Nasir, Mass Transit Authority and officers of the relevant departments attended the meeting.
