LAHORE, Oct 21 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed that wearing face masks be made mandatory for all Traffic Police personnel and teams of the “Suthra Punjab” program in view of the rising smog levels across the province.
The CM emphasized that all traffic police officers working in high-emission areas must wear masks to protect their health from harmful pollutants. She instructed senior police officials to ensure strict implementation of the directive issued by the Punjab government.
Similarly, all field staff and sanitation workers associated with the “Suthra Punjab” initiative have been directed to wear face masks while on duty. The CM ordered senior officials to personally monitor compliance and enforce this precautionary measure across all districts.
CM Maryam Nawaz said the step is part of the provincial government’s proactive strategy to safeguard frontline workers and reduce the adverse health effects of deteriorating air quality during the ongoing smog season.
