CM lays foundation stone of Faculty of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences Building

PESHAWAR, Feb 23 (APP): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Monday laid the foundation stone of the new multi-storey building of the Faculty of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences.
The project is being constructed on six kanals of land in Phase 5, Hayatabad, at an estimated cost of Rs 2.9 billion. The seven-storey complex, along with two basements has been designed to ensure institutional stability and long-term financial sustainability. The project aims to generate sustainable revenue without relying on external funding and supporting academic activities.
Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister said it is encouraging to see public institutions moving towards self-sustainability. He praised the faculty’s initiative of launching the project through self-help efforts and emphasized that other institutions and departments should adopt a similar model of financial independence.
He further stated that the current provincial government prioritizes investment in human development, with special focus on health, education and social sectors.
During a briefing, officials informed that the complex will house the administration block, Dean’s office, offices of department heads, human resources, finance, academic affairs and other facilities under one roof.
Additionally, six rental floors will be constructed for healthcare institutions, diagnostic laboratories, NGOs, banks, medical suppliers, and training organizations.
A modern seminar hall equipped with advanced audio-visual facilities will be available for academic conferences, medical workshops, and professional events.
The complex will also include elevators, spacious parking, a cafeteria, power backup, secure access systems, and other modern amenities.
