CM grieved over Kahna tuition centre roof collapse

LAHORE, Jun 30 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the tragic roof collapse at a tuition centre in Kahna that claimed the lives of 14 children.
The CM extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and ordered a province-wide review of the structural safety of educational institutions and private buildings.
The CM prayed for the early recovery of the injured children and said rescue and relief operations were launched immediately after the incident was reported. She added that the rescue operation had been completed and 20 children were safely evacuated.
“As a mother, I can understand the pain of the parents. I am at a loss for words to express this grief,” she said, describing the loss of 14 precious lives as an extremely tragic and irreparable tragedy.
CM Maryam Nawaz directed the authorities to conduct a complete, transparent and impartial inquiry into the incident and stressed that anyone found responsible for negligence or misconduct should face strict legal action without any leniency.
She also ordered a comprehensive review of the structural safety standards of educational institutions and private buildings across Punjab, saying a coordinated and effective strategy would be devised to prevent such tragic incidents in the future.
