KARACHI, Dec 31 (APP): Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah extended heartfelt New Year wishes to the people of Pakistan, expressing hope that 2026 will usher in progress, prosperity, and new successes for the nation.
In his message, the Chief Minister reflected on Pakistan’s remarkable military victory in 2025 against adversaries many times its size, which demonstrated the country’s strength on the global stage. He declared 2025 a year of defensive superiority and predicted 2026 would mark advancement in the economic arena.
Highlighting provincial accomplishments, Shah noted that the Sindh government achieved several milestones in 2025. In healthcare, Sindh established world-class facilities and built the world’s largest health network.
The government also completed 1.1 million homes for flood-affected families, setting a world record. Murad Shah announced plans to complete two million homes in 2026, making the record unassailable.
Education efforts included school renovations and merit-based teacher recruitment to boost learning. In agriculture, initiatives like the Hari Card, subsidized wheat procurement, and fertilizer supply safeguarded farmers, the CM said.
Murad Shah said, Karachi received special focus, with water scarcity as the top priority. The inauguration of the new Hub Canal and full budgeting for the K-IV project underscored the government’s commitment.
According to CM, the city hosted a 39-day World Cultural Festival, stunning the world and re-branding Karachi as a city of colors and joy, free from the shadows of fear. On the last day of 2025, a double-decker bus service launched, with BRT Yellow, Red, and Green lines set for completion in 2026, he added.
Mega projects like Shahrah-e-Bhutto will transform Karachi’s landscape, positioning it among the world’s most livable cities in 2025’s ongoing drive, the CM concluded.
