QUETTA, Jul 06 (APP):Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Corps Commander Balochistan Lieutenant General Rahat Naseem Ahmed Khan and senior officials visited Central Police Office (CPO) Quetta to review security arrangements on the occasion of Youm-e- Ashura on Sunday.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister Balochistan and the Corps Commander were taken to visit the modern D3C Monitoring Room established in CPO from where various places, procession routes and sensitive areas are being directly examined.
Inspector General (IG) Police Balochistan Moazzam Jah Ansari gave a detailed briefing on the security plan to the Chief Minister and other officials
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed the concerned institutions to keep a close watch on every movement of provocative elements during Ashura Day and to immediately foil any suspicious activity.
He said that effective surveillance should be ensured at all times on the routes of processions, sensitive places and entrances.
He directed the security agencies to remain alert and made it clear that even the slightest negligence would not be tolerated. The chief minister expressed satisfaction that all the agencies were performing their duties in harmony.
He said that the government, security forces and the public are united to maintain law and order situation and with the joint efforts of all of us, complete peace and tranquility would be ensured on Ashura day.
The CM directed the IG Police to ensure that there is no lack of foolproof security arrangements at processions, gatherings and public places.
Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Hamza Shafqat, Spokesperson Balochistan Government Shahid Rind and other relevant officials were also present on the occasion.
