QUETTA, Mar 03 (APP): Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to ensuring sustainable peace, interfaith harmony, and continued development across Balochistan, pledging to pursue an inclusive policy that engages all schools of thought and segments of society.
Speaking at an iftar dinner hosted in honor of prominent religious scholars affiliated with the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee in Quetta on Tuesday, Bugti emphasized that maintaining stability and steering Balochistan toward prosperity remains a top priority for his administration. Provincial ministers and members of the Balochistan Assembly also attended the gathering.
Sarfraz Bugti highlighted the pivotal role of religious scholars in promoting moderation, tolerance, and brotherhood within society. He noted that their constructive guidance is essential in safeguarding the younger generation from extremism and sectarian divisions. “Religious leaders have a key responsibility in fostering unity and discouraging divisive narratives,” he said.
The Chief Minister described the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee as an effective platform for strengthening national cohesion and advancing religious harmony. He stressed that collective efforts are needed to reinforce shared values and prevent sectarian discord.
Referring to the holy month of Ramazan, Sarfraz Bugti said it serves as a reminder of patience, forbearance, and selflessness. He urged citizens to embody these principles to promote peace and compassion throughout society, calling it a pressing need of the time.
Reiterating his government’s inclusive approach, Sarfraz Bugti assured participants that recommendations and consultations from religious scholars would be given due consideration in policymaking.
The event concluded with special prayers for national security, provincial stability, and the prosperity of the people.
