QUETTA, Oct 15 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a high-level meeting on Wednesday to assess the performance of the Safa Quetta Integrated Solid Waste Management Project and address the broader sanitation challenges facing the provincial capital.
The meeting was held here at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
During the session, CM Sarfraz Bugti conducted a comprehensive review of Quetta’s cleanliness standards, solid waste infrastructure, and the operational efficiency of the Safa Quetta project.
He issued firm directives to remove all longstanding garbage piles from every neighborhood, emphasizing the need for a sustainable and effective sanitation system.
“Quetta is the face of Balochistan. Its cleanliness, aesthetics, and civic amenities are our top priority,” Bugti added.
He instructed all relevant departments to ensure strict compliance with sanitation protocols across highways, markets, residential zones, and drainage systems. He stressed that the goal is to provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment.
Sarfraz Bugti called for the modernization of the city’s sanitation infrastructure, urging the deployment of advanced machinery, adequate manpower, and integrated monitoring systems to bring operations in line with contemporary standards.
He assured attendees that the provincial government would allocate all necessary resources to improve civic services.
He expressed his vision to transform the Safa Quetta initiative into a model project that could be replicated in other cities across Balochistan.
The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Advisor for Local Government Nawabzada Baba Ameer Hamza Zehri, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary for Development and Planning Zahid Saleem, Principal Secretary Babar Khan, Secretary Local Government Abdul Rauf Baloch, Head of Public Private Partnership Authority Dr. Faisal Khan, Administrator Quetta Metropolitan Corporation Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Qambrani and Additional Secretary Finance.
