NORTH DERA BUGTI, Oct 24 (APP):Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited various ongoing development projects in North Dera Bugti district and reviewed the pace and quality of work, while also inaugurating several newly constructed government offices aimed at improving public access to essential services and administrative facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said the establishment of government offices in the newly created district marked a significant step towards providing basic government services at the doorstep of the people and facilitating easier access to administrative affairs.
He said activating public institutions and strengthening the administrative system in newly established districts remained a key priority of the provincial government so that citizens would not have to travel long distances to resolve their official matters.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti directed government officers to consider public service as their foremost responsibility and ensure the implementation of an open-door policy in their offices. He instructed officials to maintain punctuality and prioritise the resolution of public grievances, emphasizing that citizens should not be subjected to unnecessary delays or hardships in obtaining solutions to their legitimate problems.
The chief minister said the primary purpose of the government machinery was to serve the people and ensure timely resolution of their issues. He added that the performance of officials should be assessed on the basis of the services provided to the public, their conduct towards citizens, and their seriousness in addressing public concerns.
Highlighting the importance of effective governance in newly established districts, Bugti said strengthening the administrative structure and ensuring the functionality of government institutions was the need of the hour.
He said all relevant departments would have to perform their responsibilities efficiently to remove obstacles in the delivery of basic services and improve administrative affairs.
During the review of development schemes, the chief minister underscored the importance of water reservoirs and dam construction projects, stating that the development of water storage infrastructure was indispensable in view of Balochistan’s growing water scarcity challenges. However, he made it clear that there could be no compromise on construction quality.
He directed the authorities concerned to strictly adhere to prescribed standards and technical requirements in the execution of all development projects, including dams, so that they could prove durable, effective and beneficial for the people in the long run.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti warned that substandard construction work in development projects would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He instructed relevant authorities to ensure effective monitoring, transparency and timely completion of all schemes.
The chief minister said public resources were a national trust and their prudent utilisation was the government’s fundamental responsibility. Delays in project completion or negligence in maintaining quality standards, he said, directly affected public interest. He therefore called upon officials to discharge their duties with honesty, commitment and accountability.
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to balanced development across the province, Bugti said efforts would continue to improve basic services, strengthen governance and accelerate the development process in North Dera Bugti and other regions of Balochistan.
He further directed the relevant authorities to enhance oversight of development projects and ensure that public welfare remained the guiding principle behind every administrative and development decision, enabling the benefits of government initiatives to reach citizens directly and effectively.
