CM Bugti expresses concerns over public hardships caused by gas shortages in various areas across province

QUETTA, Jan 15 (APP):Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on Thursday expressed serious concerns over public hardships caused by gas shortages during the peak of winter season.
Presiding over a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat with officials of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), he said low gas pressure and prolonged outages were unacceptable under any circumstances in extreme cold weather, directing authorities to adopt immediate and practical measures to ensure uninterrupted supply and safeguard public welfare.
The meeting, attended by the members of Balochistan Assembly, discussed in detailed complaints of prolonged outages, reduced pressure, and non-availability of gas in several areas.
The Chief Minister also voiced his concerns over recent gas-related incidents and directed authorities to strengthen safety measures to protect human lives.
He mentioned that he has formally conveyed the issue to the prime minister through an official letter. He noted that Sui, the area supplying gas to the entire country continues to face acute shortages, forcing families to rely on firewood even today.
The Chief Minister said no excuses, negligence, or delays by gas companies would be tolerated. He instructed relevant authorities to take immediate and effective measures to provide relief and ensure uninterrupted gas supply across the province.
