QUETTA, Aug 08 (APP): Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, on Thursday said the issuance of arms licenses in Quetta has been digitized under a one-window operation.
To permanently address the complaints of obtaining jobs and other benefits across the country on a Balochistan domicile, the Government of Balochistan is digitizing all legal documents, including local and domicile certificates, he while talking to the media at the inauguration of the computerized arms license issuance center at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Quetta.
Additional Chief Secretary Zahid Saleem, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Imran Zarkoon and Deputy Commissioner Quetta Saad bin Asad accompanied the CM.
The chief minister said anyone holding a local or domicile certificate issued by the government of Balochistan can obtain a license for their protection or sports activities. A period will be given for old arms licenses, after which they will be canceled. The arms license digitization project will be extended to the entire province, he added.
Mir Sarfraz Bugti mentioned that the project to issue digital arms licenses, which had been pending since 2017 in Quetta, had now been implemented to a one-window operation to digitize the record of arms licenses.
He noted that currently, this project was limited to Quetta, but it would be expanded throughout Balochistan and the second phase would involve the digitization of local certificates and domicile documents.
To a question, the chief minister said that four districts of Balochistan including Ziarat, Harnai, and others were affected by rains and an emergency had been declared so that the government can provide timely assistance to them.
