CM aide directs to expedite work on sports projects

PESHAWAR, Jan 02 (APP):Advisor for Sports and Youth Affairs, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand visited to Peshawar Sports Complex here on Friday, where he was briefed on ongoing projects.
The Director General of Sports and other senior officers of the Sports Department briefed him about ongoing projects.
During the visit, the Sports Advisor carried out a detailed inspection of various ongoing construction projects at the sports complex, particularly the construction of the tartan track, and reviewed the pace and quality of the work.
While speaking on the occasion, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand directed that all ongoing development projects, including the tartan track, should be completed as soon as possible. He made it clear that no compromise would be made on the quality of construction work.
The sports advisor said that the construction of the tartan track is an encouraging and important step for the training and development of athletes in the province, as it will provide players with international-standard facilities.
He further said that highlighting the potential of talented athletes from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa at the global level is a top priority of the government.
The officers of the sports department were directed to ensure timely completion and transparency in development projects so that better sports opportunities can be provided to the youth.
The tartan track is in the final stages of completion and will soon be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Khan Afridi.
Tarand said that the provincial government is actively working for the promotion of sports.
