Civil Services Academy delegation calls on PA Speaker

LAHORE, Nov 17 (APP):A 60-member delegation from the Civil Services Academy visited the Punjab Assembly (PA) on Monday, where they met with Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan.
During the meeting, the Speaker engaged the delegation in a detailed discussion on resolving public issues, the stages of lawmaking, and the functioning of the parliamentary system. He informed the delegation that, for the first time in Punjab’s history, the committee system had been fully empowered, introducing new dimensions of transparency, enhanced oversight, and improved parliamentary decision-making.
The delegation received an in-depth briefing on the legislative process, parliamentary traditions, and the internal workings of the assembly. As part of the visit, they toured the Assembly Hall, Committee Rooms, and the Media Gallery.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan emphasized that research, seamless access to information, and transparency were crucial pillars in strengthening parliamentary democracy.
The officers from the Civil Services Academy expressed that the study tour was highly beneficial, as it allowed them to observe firsthand the practical aspects of the legislative process. They also extended their gratitude to Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and the Punjab Assembly administration for the warm welcome and the comprehensive briefing.
