HYDERABAD, Dec 15 (APP):The Medical Superintendent of Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad, Dr. Syed Irshad Hussain Kazmi, has announced that the Outpatient Department (OPD) at Civil Hospital Hyderabad will now operate 24 hours a day to reduce the pressure on the emergency department.
In a statement, Dr. Kazmi said that the decision was made to alleviate the flood of patients that would typically visit the emergency department after 2 pm when the OPD was previously closed. Patients can now visit the OPD for check-ups after 2 pm instead of going to the emergency department.
The hospital, which receives patients from Hyderabad and 18 other districts, aims to provide better services to these patients with this upgrade. The emergency department will be upgraded to a state-of-the-art facility, complete with a modern operation theater, and senior doctors and consultants will be deployed on an emergency basis.
The World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines will be followed in setting up this department, which is expected to become a significant addition to the hospital. Civil Hospital Hyderabad is poised to become one of the best hospitals in Sindh.
The hospital administration is taking steps to improve services and provide quality healthcare to patients, and this move is seen as a major step in that direction.
