PESHAWAR, Nov 28 (APP): Mayor Peshawar, Haji Zubair Ali has expressed concern over collection of tax in the form of tickets from people visiting historic Wazir Bagh Peshawar and termed it an injustice to local population.
In a statement, he also expressed displeasure over the decision of provincial minister for local government, Meena Khan Afridi to collect tax form the people visiting Wazir Bagh.
He also removed the staff that was tasked to collect tax and said that it is astonishing that public representatives are failed to provide any kind of facilities to people.
He said that local population has also expressed dismay over tax collection saying that government is making money from those who only want to enjoy fresh air in the park.
Mayor also rejected the decision of local government minister and added that it is duty of elected representatives to respect aspirations and feeling of people.
