Citizens urged to quit smoking on ‘World No Tobbaco Day’

KARACHI, May 31 (APP): The Sindh Governor Mohammed Kamran Khan Tessori and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah have appealed to the citizens to quit smoking and help save also others from the same to live a healthy life.
On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that smoking was a global epidemic that claimed the lives of millions every year.
He emphasized that today, as a reminder that a healthy life is our fundamental right, we must protect ourselves and future generations from harmful substances like tobacco.
The chief minister said that protecting the youth from smoking is a top priority and that providing a healthy and tobacco-free environment to the people is the mission of the Sindh government.
He said that smoking is not only a harmful habit but also the root cause of many fatal diseases.
To protect public health, the government will strictly enforce tobacco-related laws, he said adding that the Sindh government was taking effective steps against smoking and ensuring the implementation of smoking bans in educational institutions, hospitals and public places.
