RAWALPINDI, Dec 10 (APP):Director General (RG&SA), Major General Akif Iqbal, HI (M), on Wednesday inaugurated the annual Chrysanthemum and Autumn Flowers Exhibition on the Bank Road, organized by the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB).
President Cantonment Board and Station Commander Brigadier Ali Anjum Syed, CEO RCB Aamer Rashid, Director General RDA Kinza Murtaza, Additional CEO Zia Hussain, Deputy CEO Nasir Kamal, Lt Colonel Raja Shakeel, President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce (RCCI), Usman Shaukat, members of the business community and a large number of citizens attended the colourful ceremony.
CEO Aamer Rashed and senior officers briefed the chief guest about various sections of the exhibition. The event also featured folk music performances and stalls displaying traditional handicrafts. Special stalls representing all provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir showcased Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage, music and crafts.
Thousands of rare and colourful chrysanthemums and other autumn flowers have been put on display. The five-day exhibition will remain open for families and children till December 14.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO RCB Aamer Rashed said that the exhibition aims to promote environment-friendly activities and encourage citizens to develop a deeper connection with nature. A large number of families visited the exhibition on the opening day and expressed keen interest in the floral displays.
