GUJRAT, Dec 10 (APP):A meeting to review preparations for Christmas was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Noor-ul-Ain Qureshi, with officers from various departments and representatives of the Christian community in attendance.
According to a district administration spokesperson, the Punjab government has directed all departments to ensure that Christian employees receive their salaries before December 20, enabling them to celebrate their religious festival with ease.
The DC instructed chief officers of municipal bodies to ensure cleanliness in graveyards and directed that churches be cleaned and properly decorated ahead of Christmas services.
GEPCO and WAPDA authorities were advised to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the Christmas period so that festivities can continue without disruption.
The meeting was further informed that Christmas bazaars would be set up across the district from December 20, and relevant departments were directed to finalize arrangements.
