PESHAWAR, Nov 14 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi on Friday chaired a meeting of the provincial cabinet and outlined the key policy guidelines for his government.
He thanked all political parties for participating in the recent peace jirga, saying that political differences may exist but peace remains a shared goal for everyone.
The Chief Minister said that all resolutions passed by the provincial assembly will be fully implemented.
He highlighted that the most important resolution relates to ending the “Action in Aid of Civil Power” law, which he termed as contrary to fundamental human rights.
Sohail Afridi announced the formation of an inquiry commission to investigate the May 9 attack on Radio Pakistan.
The commission will collect all evidence, including CCTV footage, and submit its report to the cabinet.
He said that establishing a riba-free (interest-free) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is among the top priorities of the government, and policies are being prepared to promote Islamic investment.
Sohail Afridi also stressed that all government reforms will be made in consultation with elected representatives.
He said the government will strictly follow a zero-tolerance policy against corruption, and no one will be allowed to use public funds for personal publicity.
He directed cabinet members to ensure merit and transparency in all decisions and called for a fresh review of all laws to identify shortcomings and propose necessary amendments.
