PESHAWAR, Jul 12 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur presided over the first meeting of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Department and were briefed about the administrative affairs, financial matters, leasing policy of Waqf properties and other matters.
An important initiative was also of the Chief Minister to secure old copies of the Holy books besides establishing Quran Mahal in provincial capital Peshawar with PDA going to provide land for construction of Quran Mahal under Chief Minister’s directive.
The decision was also taken old and those holy books in dilapidated condition would be collected from all over the province and will be preserved in the Quran Mahal. The Quran Mahal should be a beautiful model of Islamic architecture, the chief minister instructed.
The chief minister Khyber Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has also decided in a meeting to celebrate the Rahmat-ul-alameen Conference this year at the official level in a grand manner across the province. The meeting decided to make all arrangements to hold the Rahmat-ul-Alameen conference in the provincial capital Peshawar as well as in all the divisional and district headquarters.
Chief Minister has announced to provide Rs. 50 million for the holding of Rahmat-ul-Alameen conference at the provincial level, Rs. 20 million each for the conferences at the divisional level and Rs. 10 million each for the conferences at the district level.
Chief Minister directed the concerned authorities to identify suitable land for Sirkai Cemetery in Peshawar city to meet the requirement of a cemetery. The decision of the Chief Minister was taken to hold the Conference of Scholars and Religious Scholars at the official level.
In the meeting, it was decided to establish an East Management Unit in the Awqaf Department for better management and maintenance of endowment properties. It was also decided to introduce GIS mapping of Awqaf properties across the province. The meeting decided to hire a law firm for better follow-up of cases pending in various courts related to the properties of the Awqaf Department.
