FAISALABAD, Oct 24 (APP):Under the vision of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Commissioner cup chess championship was played at Al-Fateh sports complex here on Friday.
Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar was chief guest on the occasion. Over 180 chess players participated in the event.
Noted chess player Arshad Ali won the title while in the women category, Madam Fareeha declared winner. In the under-15 category, Saif Ul Rehman and Abad jointly got first position.
The Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar appreciated the winners and announced to hold chess competitions at 15 different places in the next two months.
He also directed the Deputy Commissioner Cap (Retd) Nadeem Nasir to take measures to hold the chess championship at district level.
