Chairman Senate urges compassion for underprivileged on Eid,calls for political stability

MULTAN, Jun 07 (APP): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Saturday emphasized the importance of caring for the underprivileged during Eid-ul-Azha, calling it a religious and moral duty of every citizen.
While speaking to the media after offering Eid prayers at the shrine of Hazrat Musa Pak Shaheed, Gilani extended warm Eid greetings to the nation.

He appealed to citizens to remember the underprivileged, the martyrs and oppressed Muslims in their festive celebrations.
He was joined by Pir Syed Abu-ul-Hassan Gilani, the custodian of the shrine, Members of the National Assembly Syed Ali Musa Gilani and Syed Ali Qasim Gilani, along with former MPA Javed Siddiqui.
Gilani said Eid-ul-Azha teaches the values of sacrifice, unity and compassion.
He paid tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan, acknowledging their sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and their role in ensuring peace.
Calling for unity among political parties,Gilani stressed the need for political stability,stating that economic development was only possible through sustained political consensus. “All political forces must demonstrate unity in the national interest,” he said.
He also urged the government to provide relief to the public in the upcoming federal budget, stating that improving the lives of common citizens was a shared responsibility of the parliament, government, and state institutions.
Gilani appealed to the international community to play an effective role in supporting the oppressed people of Palestine and Gaza.
