Ceremony held to recognize dedication of polio workers

KOHAT, Oct 24 (APP)::A ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s House Kohat to recognize the exceptional performance of the officers and frontline workers from the Police, Health, Education, Information, Revenue and other departments during the recent national anti-polio campaign.
Deputy Commissioner Kohat Rahimullah Mehsud, who attended the event as the chief guest distributed commendation certificates among the officers and staff for their outstanding contributions to the successful execution of the campaign.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that polio remains a serious national concern that demands collective responsibility and sustained efforts from all segments of the society. He noted that while the world has successfully eradicated polio, Pakistan and Afghanistan remain the only countries where the virus still exists.
He emphasized that polio is a crippling disease that leaves children permanently disabled urging parents to play their role in its complete eradication.
He also commended the dedication of polio teams, the cooperation of parents and the strong coordination among district departments expressing hope that the same spirit and commitment would continue in future campaigns.
