CEO health reviews anti-polio campaign

SARGODHA, Oct 31 (APP):Chief Executive Officer (CEO) District Health Authority Sargodha, Dr. Sarah Safdar on Friday presided over a post-campaign review meeting on the recent polio vaccination drive to review  performance of the anti-polio campaign conducted from October 13 to 16.
According to spokesperson for health department here, a target of administering polio drops to 709,266 children was set for the district, out of which 688,501 children were successfully vaccinated — achieving 97 percent of the target.
The CEO said that polio teams reached 518,400 households out of the 530,000 planned, covering 98 percent of the target area, adding that no refusals were reported from parents during the campaign.
She mentioned that efforts are continuing to vaccinate the remaining children to achieve 100 percent coverage in the district.
Dr. Sarah Safdar further informed that the Measles and Rubella vaccination campaign was carried out across the district, during which 583,093 children aged six months to five years were immunized. A total of 535 teams participated in the drive, including 333 outreach and 202 fixed teams.
The meeting also included a briefing on the current dengue situation and the progress made so far in prevention and control efforts.
