Central taking steps to provide skill training to youth for development of country: Wajiha Qamar

QUETTA, Jul 29 (APP): Minister of State for Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar on Tuesday said that Federal government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is taking measures to provide skill training to youth with the aim to use their abilities for development of the country.
She expressed these views while addressing a press conference on the occasion of visiting the Technical Training Center in Quetta.
She said that the youth are the future of Pakistan and they could be guided in the right direction by making them skilled.
“Balochistan is among the priorities of the prime minister, if Balochistan is developed and prosperous, then Pakistan will develop”, she said adding that a program for capacity building of the youth of Balochistan has also been started so that these youth could make the country and nation famous at international forums, the youth are being provided with training and skills in line with modern requirements.
Wajiha Qamar said that she visited skill-providing institutions with the aim of finding out whether the same skills that are being provided in Islamabad are being provided here. She added that the National Incubation Center at Biotech University, which is working under the Federal Ministry of Information Technology, is an institution that is an example for all incubation centers in Pakistan, the is providing support is commendable saying that the way facilities are being provided to children and girls is commendable.
She noted that children and girls from 36 districts of Balochistan are working on startups, the Prime Minister’s priority is to promote skill-based education, more than 60 percent of the youth are youth, if we show the youth the right direction. We would make them a national asset. NewTech and other institutions are working.
There are challenges in Balochistan. Students from far-flung areas are facing difficulties like providing facilities, she maintained. She said that the federal government is providing industry-related skills to children in view of the modern requirements.
The girls had no skills other than beauty parlor and cooking, but now these girls are being trained, Information technology and artificial intelligence are being given priority, all possible technical and financial support would be provided by my ministry for the support needed in the entire province.
We all have to come together to bring the youth of Balochistan forward and it would be developed then Pakistan could be developed and prosper. Balochistan is among the priorities of the government, an increased share is being kept for Balochistan in scholarships etc, she mentioned.
She said that throughout Pakistan, those students who could not come forward for any reason should be provided these opportunities, efforts are being made to eliminate the existing problems, a capacity building program for the youth of Balochistan has also been started. Prime Minister Skills has provided skills to about 4,000 youth.
