Celebration of Marka-e-Haq, Independence Day to be observed together: CM

KARACHI, Jul 11 (APP):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, presiding over a meeting, decided that this year’s celebration of Marka-e-Haq and Independence Day would be observed together.
The meeting, held at CM House, was attended by provincial ministers Sharjeel Memon, Saeed Ghani, Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, and Zulfiqar Shah. Also present were Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Karachi Commissioner Hassan Naqvi, Additional IGP Karachi Javed Alam Odho, provincial secretaries, Sukkur Commissioner Fayyaz Abbasi, representatives from Corps Five, COMCAR, and Southern Air Command. Mayors and commissioners from Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Larkana divisions participated via video link.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed pride in Pakistan’s historic victory over India and vowed to celebrate this year’s Independence Day with grandeur. He announced that special events would be held on August 14 and 15 to honour the triumph of truth and the spirit of freedom.
Shah emphasised organising programs that pay tribute to the armed forces and stated that Independence Day festivities would commence from August 1. The celebrations will include cultural shows, sports events, and musical performances.
To ensure the smooth execution of the events, the CM constituted a dedicated committee to finalise the arrangements.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon will head the “Victory of Truth and Independence Day Programs Committee,” which will include the Minister for Sports, the Minister for Culture, the Minister for Local Government, and all mayors. The committee will prepare a detailed program schedule and submit it to the Chief Minister for approval.
This comprehensive planning reflects the Sindh government’s commitment to honouring Pakistan’s independence with vibrant and meaningful celebrations across the province.
