LAHORE, Jul 10 (APP):Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana chaired a performance review meeting of Iqbal Town and Sadar Divisions, here on Thursday.
He lauded the police force for making excellent security arrangements during Ashura and directed that appreciation certificates be awarded to deserving officers. He issued orders to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the second and third Ashra of Muharram, processions and majalis during Safar al Muzaffar, Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), and the Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (R.A).
The CCPO ordered large-scale measures to eliminate drug trafficking and gambling activities. He also directed strict monitoring of private security guards and volunteers deputed for neighborhood patrolling.
He remarked that the installation of security barriers in residential areas had yielded positive results. Warning against procedural lapses, he said SDPOs would be held accountable if cases were marked as untraceable without fulfilling legal requirements. He directed officers to resolve such cases with legal assistance from prosecutors.
He reiterated that timely registration of FIRs was a legal right of citizens and should be ensured in all cases.
The meeting was attended by DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, SSP (Operations) Tasawwar Iqbal, along with SPs, ASPs, Circle Officers, SHOs, and Investigation In-charges of both divisions.
