CCD police’s alleged encounter, suspect wanted in 79 cases
BHAKKAR, Sep 29 (APP):A suspect wanted in 79 criminal cases was killed during an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) Police on Bhakkar Road, police said on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Ismatullah. His accomplice managed to escape.Police also recovered two motorcycles from the crime scene.
According to the police report, a CCD team was on routine patrol on Bhakkar Road when two suspects riding motorcycles opened fire on the police party. Police retaliated in self-defence, leaving Ismatullah critically injured while his accomplice fled.
The injured suspect was being shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bhakkar when he succumbed to his injuries on the way.Police said Ismatullah was wanted in case No. 392 dated August 13, 2026, registered at Police Station Sadar Bhakkar, along with 78 other cases.
Of the two seized motorcycles, one was wanted in case No. 533/26 dated September 24, 2026, under Section 381-A at Police Station Sadar Bhakkar, while the other was also found to be stolen/wanted in police record.
The encounter took place about 6-7 kilometers east of Police Station Sadar Bhakkar on Bhakkar Road on September 29.Police have initiated proceedings to register a case under Sections 302, 324, 353, 186, 440, 411, 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Section 13-2(b) of the Punjab Arms Ordinance 2015. Search for the absconding accomplice is underway.
