BUREWALA, Oct 20 (APP):The Crime Control Department (CCD) in Burewala has successfully solved a blind murder case that had remained unresolved for over three months, following the discovery of a human skeleton in a field. The breakthrough came after CCD officials used modern forensic techniques and investigative tools to identify the remains and trace the alleged killer.
The case initially came to light when Burewala Sadar Police recovered a skeleton from a field. Despite initial efforts, the case remained unsolved and was eventually handed over to the CCD for further investigation.
Employing advanced forensic analysis and human resource intelligence, the CCD team identified the skeleton as belonging to Sonia Bibi, a resident of Chak 461/EB. The investigation revealed that Sonia was allegedly murdered by her husband following a domestic dispute. According to police, the suspect used a hatchet to kill his wife and then disposed of her body in the fields in an attempt to conceal the crime.
The CCD team — comprising Rana Tauqeer, Abrar Ali, Asghar Ali, and Mahmood Riaz, and led by CCD In-Charge Chaudhry Ikram — tracked down and arrested the alleged murderer, who is now in police custody.
Police officials have praised the CCD’s swift action, highlighting the role of modern investigative methods in solving complex and long-standing cases.
