Bus plunges into ravine near Murree’s Lower Barian, fear of casualties
RAWALPINDI, Aug 25 (APP):A passenger bus fell into a deep ravine near Lower Barian Liran area of Murree on Tuesday, leaving at least three people dead and several others injured, according to initial reports.
Rescue officials said more than 20 passengers were on board the bus at the time of the accident.
Several people are reported to have sustained serious injuries, and relief operations are under way.
As soon as information about the accident was received, Rescue 1122 Murree dispatched relief teams to the site.
Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa also alerted and mobilised its Murree-based rescue teams after receiving the information.
Given the scale of the accident, additional rescue personnel and resources have also been sent to the site.
Local residents joined the relief effort on their own initiative, helping to shift the injured to safety.
The transfer of critically injured victims to private hospitals, with the assistance of local residents, is continuing.
Following the accident, Civil Hospital Murree and the Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Murree have been placed on alert.
