LAHORE, Jun 16 (APP):The Punjab government has earmarked Rs. 4 billion for Human Rights & Minority Affairs Department for the financial year 2025-26.
The budget documents made available to APP showed that the Punjab government allocated Rs. 1.025 billion for ongoing and Rs. 2.976 billion for new schemes.
For new schemes, a sum of Rs. 1.5 billion has been allocated for religious tourism conservation/preservation of Gurdwara, Churches/ Mandir, Rs 300 million construction/repair/renovation of Graveyards/Janazgah/Shamshan Ghat and Community Centres for minorities (Phase-III), Rs 90 million for the renovation of Saint Joseph Church, Sargodha, Rs 65 million for developing the HR&MA department’s capacity and increasing awareness of human rights and Rs 20 million for reconstruction of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church at Nabha road, Lahore.
For the Chief Minister Initiative, Rs 1b has been allocated for the CM’s Minority Development programme in the financial year 2025-26
