QUETTA, Aug 16 (APP):Balochistan International Think Tank and Friends of Universe Society Pakistan organized the Shaheed Baz Muhammad Kakar Gold Medal ceremony here at a local hotel in Quetta.
Important figures from various walks of life, including former Chief Minister of Balochistan Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, leaders of political parties, tribal elders, and representatives of civil society, participated in the event.
During the event, individuals who had demonstrated outstanding performance in various fields were awarded the Shaheed Baz Muhammad Kakar Gold Medal.
Those who received awards included Ali Ahmed Kurd Adv for Rule of Law, Syed Nazeer Agha Adv for Social work, Zafar Qadir for Education, Dr Malik Baloch for his services in Politics, Dr Wahid Noor for Science & Technology, Abdul Saboor Khan for Education Environment and Administration and Dr. Qurat ul Ain Social work and Development.
Awais Jadoon, Chairman of the Balochistan International Think Tank, in his address, said that they have initiated a unique endeavor by honoring individuals from the region who have dedicated their lives to public rights, freedom of expression, the establishment of true democracy, principled struggle against imperialist forces, global peace, and fostering fraternal and equal relations among nations.
These awards, he noted named after such personalities, aim to pay tribute to these great individuals and introduce their achievements to the general public.

The BITT highlighted that this award series, which includes the largest non-governmental civil award series in Asia, covers various categories such as Quaid-e-Azam International Award, Quaid-e-Azam Gold Medal, Quaid-e-Azam Lifetime Achievement Award, Allama Iqbal Award, Allama Iqbal Gold Medal, Nelson Mandela Award, Nelson Mandela Gold Medal Award, mam Khomeini Award, Atatürk Award.
He mentioned that these awards ceremonies are held annually in various cities across the country, and alongside the awards, valuable gifts and cash prizes are also presented.
BITT is close to setting a world record, as no other non-governmental civil award series of this scale exists in the world, he claimed.
