MUZAFFARGARH, Feb 01 (APP):Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) blocked 49 retailer devices across the district after they were found involved in illegal deductions from funds meant for widows.
According to the focal person and Assistant Director BISP, Jahanzeb Kharal, a total of 86 devices were operating across the district, out of which 49 were detected to be involved in unlawful deductions.
He said the action was taken following a tip-off, after which the devices were monitored and investigated secretly, and later confirmed to be involved in fraudulent activities.
He said the data of the device owners has also been collected, and those found involved in the fraud will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. He added that individuals who deprived deserving people, especially widows, of their rightful financial assistance do not deserve any leniency.
The Assistant Director urged beneficiaries of the BISP programme to lodge complaints without fear or delay and assured them that their grievances would be addressed transparently and promptly.
