Bilal Akbar visits Chiniot to review Muharram security arrangements

CHINIOT, Jun 25 (APP):Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Khan and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Zeeshan Malik visited Chiniot district to review administrative and security arrangements for the 9th of Muharram and Youm-e-Ashur (10th Muharram).
During a briefing session, Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan informed the participants about administrative measures for Muharram processions and religious gatherings, including departmental responsibilities, establishment of sabeels, sanitation arrangements, lighting, rescue services, and other facilitation measures.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif presented a detailed briefing on the security plan for 9th and 10th Muharram, covering deployment of police personnel, route security, monitoring mechanisms, and search-and-sweep operations.
Speaking on the occasion, Bilal Akbar and Adviser Zeeshan Malik stated that provincial ministers are visiting districts across Punjab under the Chief Minister’s special directives to personally monitor arrangements during Muharram.
They emphasized that the Punjab government is utilizing all available resources to ensure exemplary arrangements and a peaceful, secure environment for mourners.
The meeting was informed that comprehensive inspection of procession routes is underway and six mobile sabeels are actively operating across Chiniot district.
The provincial minister and the adviser appreciated the efforts of the divisional and district administrations as well as the police for maintaining law and order and ensuring peaceful observance of Muharram.
The delegation also inspected arrangements at various flash points and sensitive locations, where organizers expressed satisfaction over security measures.
Later, the visiting officials reviewed on-ground arrangements and directed concerned departments to further strengthen coordination so mourners could observe the sacred days of Muharram in a peaceful and secure atmosphere.
