MARDAN, Dec 26 (APP):Federal Minister for SAFRON, Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam has said that major decisions for the welfare and development of Pakistan were taken during the governments of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Addressing a joining ceremony here on Friday, he said former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made Pakistan a nuclear power and laid a vast network of motorways across the country.
During the ceremony, prominent local personality Malik Bashir Khan along with hundreds of his supporters announced joining the PML-N.
The federal minister welcomed him on behalf of the party leadership and congratulated him on becoming part of the party.
Amir Muqam said whenever Pakistan defeated a bigger enemy, the world acknowledged it was because Pakistan had become a nuclear power, an achievement of the PML-N era.
He added that if the motorways constructed under Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif were removed, nothing substantial would remain in the country.
On national issues, the minister said Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has been advocating dialogue since 2018, even when, according to him, their mandate was allegedly stolen.
He stressed that for the sake of the country’s economy, peace, and public interest, all political forces must work together.
Criticizing the provincial government, he alleged that resources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are being spent on marches towards Islamabad and spreading hatred instead of public development.
He questioned whether the people of the province do not deserve laptops, scholarships, loans for farmers, tractors, quality hospitals, and universities, adding that one day accountability will be held for the utilization of these resources.
