RAWALPINDI, Jun 06 (APP): Punjab Health Department has issued urgent warnings about Congo risks during Eid-ul-Azha celebrations. The virus needs special safety measures while visiting cattle markets and slaughtering activities.
The Punjab Health and Population Department has intimated strict precautions for those visiting animal markets.
“Wear masks, gloves and apply repellent lotions when examining animals,” advised a health ministry spokesperson.
He particularly advised elderly, children and immunocompromised individuals to avoid cattle markets visits.
“All slaughterers must wear protective gear and ensure proper insecticide spraying of animal enclosures,” said the spokesman. The department has activated a 24/7 helpline (1033) for the concerns and confirmed all major hospitals are prepared to handle potential cases.
