PESHAWAR, Jul 07 (APP):A two-day belt promotion test was successfully organized at the Hayatabad Sports Complex in Peshawar under the auspices of the Provincial ITF Taekwondo Association, operating in accordance with the rules of the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF).
The event welcomed male and female athletes from junior and senior categories across various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Dozens of taekwondo practitioners showcased their technical skills, discipline, and physical fitness as they aimed to qualify for their next belt level. Those who passed the rigorous evaluation were awarded certificates of promotion to higher belts, marking a significant step in their martial arts journey.
The closing ceremony was graced by Junaid Khan, Director General of Local Government, who congratulated the successful athletes and praised their performances. In his remarks, he stated.
Martial arts like taekwondo not only promote physical health but also help instill self-confidence, discipline, and leadership qualities among youth. If today’s generation channels their energy into such positive activities, they can shape better futures for themselves and become valuable assets to the nation.
He further lauded the Provincial ITF Taekwondo Association for maintaining a structured and internationally recognized training and testing system under ITF guidelines. He emphasized that such initiatives not only uplift the standard of sports but also steer young people away from negative influences.
On this occasion, Naveed Habibi, Chairman of the Provincial ITF Taekwondo Association, reiterated.
Our association is officially recognized by the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF), and we regularly organize training and belt promotion activities in line with international standards. Belt promotion is more than a test of current skill—it opens the door to new goals and higher challenges.
He added that each belt represents a distinct stage in a player’s development and requires a strong display of commitment, discipline, ethical conduct, and technical proficiency. These values are what make taekwondo a complete and constructive sport.
The event attracted a large audience including coaches, sports officials, parents, and taekwondo enthusiasts. Attendees appreciated the organizers’ efforts and expressed hope and prayers for a bright future for the participating athletes.
