LAHORE, Feb 08 (APP): During the on going Basant festival in Lahore, Commissioner Maryam Khan, along with Deputy Commissioner visited Androon Delhi Gate and reviewed arrangements at health and rescue campus.
She also reviewed cleanliness situation in different areas, saying a cleanliness campaign was underway in the entire area of Walled City and Circular Road, the camps and counters of health, rescue, LWMC and others are active at Basant Campus.
In view of the increase in kite flying, administrative departments should be on alert, buying and selling is allowed for Basant till Monday, checking is going on as per the law. She said camps will remain fully functional, round-the-clock, as duty rosters have been set up, and quick response teams comprising all departments are active throughout the city.
The commissioner said that as per the instructions of the chief minister, safety measures are being ensured 100 per cent, adding, strict action is being taken against violation of the ban on spinning wheels, metal and nylon strings.
The commissioner said that citizens should follow the laws and code of conduct.
She further said that the responsible role of citizens for a safe Basant is of the utmost importance, implementation of Basant laws will prove to be the revival of the cultural festival.
