RAWALPINDI, Oct 08 (APP): Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry said that whenever the Muslim League (N) received the country in a dilapidated condition, the party made every effort to improve it further. The establishment of the new cardiac ward at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) today for cardiac patients is a testament to the fact that CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her team are actively working to provide the best health services to the public.
Barrister Danyal Chaudhry made these remarks on Wednesday while talking to the media on the occasion of the inauguration of a new 30-bed ward for cardiac patients at BBH.
He said that the Punjab government is always at the forefront whenever performance is assessed in the country.
“Whether it is the health sector, hospital infrastructure, building construction, or health programs, the Muslim League (N) has always demonstrated the best performance”, he said and reiterated for continuity of efforts to further improvement in health services.
He termed the new cardiac ward a major need for the citizens.
“Not only the people of Rawalpindi but also patients from Swat and other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) and AJK visit Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) and BBH and RIC for cardiac treatment, as both the hospitals are operating at their full capacity.
He also highlighted the establishment of dedicated dengue wards and other initiatives like supply of equipment to the hospitals.
“Our government has done exemplary work in the health sector, and every passing day is better than the previous one”, he added.
Barrister Danyal lauded the MS Dr. Sharjil Sheikh and his team for their commendable efforts in implementing best health practices in the hospital, saying that despite a shortage of funds, they are working day and night.
He also said that people of the city bear witness to how the government has improved medical and Healthcare facilities in Pakistan, particularly in Punjab. He further elaborated that despite limited funds, hospitals are being upgraded, small dispensaries are being improved, and the maternity hospital, which had been closed for years, is being reconstructed. “We are updating dispensaries through privatization, including private doctors to enhance facilities, and expanding the scope of the health card so that the public can access conveniences more easily.”
Referring to the diplomatic and economic successes of Pakistan, he said that when the country was handed over to them in darkness and weaknesses, the Muslim League (N) lifted it up. He underlined the key role played by PM Shehbaz Sharif in this regard.
“Today, Pakistan is receiving recognition in the world. This is the country where Saudi Arabia was demanding its money back, CPEC had stalled with China, and talks with the United States were breaking down”, he said adding Pakistan stands today in the world’s best position.
Danyal maintained that the government was not only strengthening the country’s role in Muslim countries but also improving relations at the global level.
Barrister Danyal expressed hope that the coming time belongs to Pakistan and its people, where every day will tell a better story.
“The country that was on the verge of default in 24 to 48 hours, has now emerged in a position of economic stability”, he added.
The parliamentary secretary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to taking the country towards improvement.
Earlier, Danyal Ch was accorded a warm welcome upon his arrival at the hospital where he was received by the senior officials of the hospital administration. He planted a tree in the hospital garden, inaugurated the ward and later, toured various rooms and wards of the hospital.
Dr. Sharjil, MS BBH briefed the minister that the newly constructed cardiac was facilitated with 20 beds in general cardiac wards and 20 beds for cardiac care unit- CCC (cardiac emergency). He informed the parliamentarian about the latest equipment installed in the ward along with sufficient medical staff and senior surgeons. He said that the ward would work as an ad-on to share the burden of RIC.
The simple but impressive event was attended by a number of medical professionals, hospital administration and media reps.
