QUETTA, Feb 24 (APP):Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that Balochistan’s strategic location could make it an important trade hub for economic development and investment for the entire region.
He said that in addition, it is also our good fortune that the current Federal Minister for Commerce belongs to Balochistan, who is an expert in promoting the province’s economy, agriculture and border trade, and we have a great opportunity to benefit from his insight.
He said this while meeting Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan called on him at the Governor House, Quetta.
The Governor mentioned that therefore, it is important to take immediate concrete practical steps to support traders and landowners across the province and create new economic activities so that we could overcome important issues like poverty and unemployment in the province.
He said that Pakistan is connected to Iran through Balochistan and there are very bright prospects for increasing trade relations with Iran.
We can create new employment opportunities by taking full advantage of the land route connected to Balochistan, he said.
He said that Pakistan’s economic future is linked to Balochistan, even today, there are experienced political figures and economic experts in Balochistan, whose knowledge and experience could be used to guide the province on the path of development and prosperity.
He said that strengthening the infrastructure across the province in line with the changing conditions and growing human needs in Balochistan is a challenge for the current government. He noted that there is a lot of backwardness in the remote districts of the province, we have to make the public interest the axis and center of all policies and projects to provide basic facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
The Governor said that the rapidly changing political and economic scenario of the entire region requires us as a nation to take wise decisions because with people-friendly policies and projects, we could easily get our country and nation out of political and economic crises.
He said that the time has come for us to rise above petty personal interests and adopt a national mindset and approach and acquire a policy of taking everyone along by putting personal interests aside.
