Balochistan to establish Safe City Authority; CM vows priority funding, technical support

QUETTA, Feb 24 (APP):The Balochistan government has decided to establish a modern Safe City Authority, aligned with contemporary security and technological requirements.
The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister (CM) Mir Sarfraz Bugti at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday, where progress on ongoing Safe City projects was reviewed in detail.
Officials briefed the meeting that under the initiative, state-of-the-art surveillance cameras will be installed in major cities across the province.
A centralized command and control center, along with an integrated digital monitoring system based on advanced technology, will be activated in phases.
The project aims to ensure round-the-clock surveillance of highways, sensitive installations, key public and private buildings, and crowded public spaces.
CM Sarfraz Bugti directed authorities to immediately remove administrative, technical, and financial hurdles and accelerate the pace of work. He assured that the provincial government will provide the required financial and technical resources on a priority basis to ensure timely completion.
