QUETTA, Nov 20 (APP):The Balochistan government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has announced the establishment of a Special Endowment Fund for the Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus (WPC) Balochistan.
The decision was made in a meeting between the Chief Minister and a WPC delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and WPC Chairperson, Ghazala Gola here Thursday.
The high-level meeting focused on strategies for women’s empowerment, welfare initiatives and detailed legislative proposals.
The primary objective of the endowment fund is to strengthen the parliamentary role and legislative capacity of women members, enabling them to more effectively influence policies related to women and provincial development.
CM Bugti commended the dynamic role of women assembly members in legislation and public interest measures.
“Their dynamic role in legislation, measures for public interest, and the overall development of the province is commendable.”
He emphasized that women’s inclusion in leadership and decision-making is a foremost priority for his government.
“Concrete steps are being taken to further strengthen and empower women’s political, social, and economic roles, and positive results will soon become apparent.”
The Chief Minister assured the WPC delegation that their proposals would be fully integrated into the upcoming budget and policy-making processes, ensuring women’s needs and priorities are reflected in government policies.
He added that strengthening the Women Parliamentarians’ Caucus would assist in resolving women’s issues across the province, increase women’s representation and make their role in the developmental process more effective.
The establishment of the endowment fund marks a significant move toward institutionalizing support for women in politics, enhancing their capacity to drive progressive change and ensuring gender-sensitive governance in Balochistan.
