Balochistan govt partners with Harley Healthcare to promote medical education in province

QUETTA, Oct 2 (APP):The Balochistan government has signed an agreement with Harley Healthcare Services to establish a Medical, Dental, and Nursing College through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to elevate medical education in the province.
The initiative aimed to provide high-quality medical education to students across Balochistan.
The college will initially enroll 100 students annually in Medical, Dentistry, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences, with 16 top-performing students receiving full scholarships each year.
The project is set to expand in phases, eventually accommodating up to 600 students.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti hailed the agreement as a milestone in the province’s educational and healthcare development.
 “This partnership will prepare our youth to become future doctors and nurses by offering world-class education in Balochistan,” he added.
“Students from all segments of society, including those in remote areas, will now have access to standard medical education at the local level.”
Sarfraz Bugti emphasized that the initiative is a practical step toward strengthening the province’s healthcare system and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to reforms in both education and health sectors.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Secretary of Higher Education, Saleh Muhammad Baloch and CEO of Harley Healthcare Services, Dr. Azhar Aslam.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti along with Provincial Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Provincial Minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Secretary Health Mujeeb ur Rehman Panizai, Secretary Finance Imran Zarkoon, Head of the Balochistan PPP Authority Dr. Faisal Khan, and Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade, Bilal Khan Kakar.
