QUETTA, Jul 10 (APP):In a significant administrative move, the Balochistan government has officially approved the merger of the Hub Levies Force into the Balochistan Police.
The Home and Tribal Affairs Department Balochistan on Thursday issued a notification of the merger of Levies Force of Hub District into Police, marking a pivotal shift in the region’s law enforcement structure.
According to the notification, all command, authority, and administrative control of the Hub Levies will now fall directly under the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Hub District.
The integration means that all personnel previously serving in the Levies force will now be considered part of the Balochistan Police, with their salaries, benefits, and other administrative matters managed through the district police budget.
The government has stated that this decision was made with the goal of creating a more efficient and unified security system in the region.
The integration is expected to eliminate the longstanding operational divide between the police and Levies in Hub, thereby enhancing coordination, ensuring swift response capabilities, and establishing a more robust law enforcement presence.
“This step is aimed at improving law and order through better coordination and response across the district,” the notification read. With the merger now in effect, all security-related operations and law enforcement actions in the district will be conducted under the centralized command of the police.
