QUETTA, Jul 23 (APP): Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on Tuesday inaugurated Zhob-Wana road to connect Balochistan with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in order to boost business actives in the area.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony held here, he said that with the construction of Zhob to Wana road, a long-standing demand of the people of Zhob and other adjoining districts has been resolved, said a news release.
He said highways play a key role in the sustainable development and prosperity of the country and the province. Jaffar Mandukhail said expansion and construction of national highways is very important to connect different provinces and cities of the country.
He added that Zhob can provide a route to the entire Balochistan to other provinces of the country and to the neighboring country of Afghanistan.
The governor said that for the people of Balochistan, Zhob is the shortest and safest travel route to the federal capital Islamabad.
He said that after the inauguration of Zhob to Wana road, now Balochistan will be connected with Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces at all times and in all weathers.
Mandokhail said that in order to reduce traffic accidents, we have to make all the national highways dual carriage ways as per the current and near future requirements.
He said there is an urgent need for all concerned departments to devise a comprehensive and integrated strategy to prevent traffic accidents on national highways.
While talking to a public gathering Jaffar Khan said that Zhob Division is of key importance due to its geographical location, archaeological and tourist attractions, adding that we will soon make the historic city of Zhob an important center of modern education, trade and tourism with the support and cooperation of the federal and provincial governments.
The governor has also issued directions for further expansion of NADRA office in Zhob.
He said that the day is not far when we give the good news of establishing a modern university in Zhob Division.
He directed the district administration to take concrete measures for the complete protection of life and property of the people and any negligence regarding public welfare will not be tolerated.
