Balochistan Assembly expresses concern over QESCO performance

QUETTA, Jun 02 (APP):Members of the Balochistan Assembly expressed concerns on Monday over the performance of the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO ) and the unfair distribution of electricity across the province.
During the meeting, lawmakers highlighted issues such as unannounced load shedding, malfunctioning transformers, and disregard for public complaints.
The session was convened at the direction of the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, with Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola in the chair.QESCO’s chief was summoned to the Assembly to hear the grievances.
Assembly members from various districts shared their experiences with QESCO’s performance in their respective constituencies.
Participants included Muhammad Khan Lehri, Liaquat Ali Lehri, Asghar Ali Tareen, Malik Naeem Khan Bazai, Barkat Rind, Ali Madad Jattak, Fazal Qadir Mandokhail, Asghar Rind, Ubaidullah Gorgage, Samad Gorgage, Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Jehanzaib Mengal, Hadiya Nawaz, Farah Azeem Shah, and others.
The session concluded with Deputy Speaker Ghazala Gola thanking all participants, reiterating that collaborative efforts are vital to overcoming the province’s electricity crisis. She stressed that while all problems may not be solved immediately, providing immediate relief to the public is non-negotiable.
“The Balochistan Assembly remains committed to safeguarding public interest and will not remain silent over institutional failures,” she declared.
