PESHAWAR, Dec 24 (APP): The Peshawar High Court on Wednesday rejected the bail application of a wanted suspect in Rs 27 billion Kohistan financial scandal.
According to details, the court dismissed the bail plea of accused Sartaj, arrested in the Upper Kohistan financial scandal and also rejected his request to declare NAB’s proceedings illegal.
In its written verdict, the court stated that the accused is wanted in Rs 27 billion Kohistan scandal and that suspicious transactions worth Rs 220 million were found in his bank accounts, which were linked to the accounts of the main accused.
NAB informed the court that the accused failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for these bank transactions.
The court observed that interference in NAB’s investigation at this stage was not justified and that the arrest was made through lawful forums.
The court further ruled that the constitutional petition was dismissed and granting premature relief to the accused would not be appropriate.
