SIALKOT, Mar 01 (APP):A community engagement session focusing on women’s economic empowerment was held in Shairabad, Tehsil Sambrial, as part of ongoing efforts to promote inclusive development in District Sialkot.
The programme introduction meeting was organized by Baidarie under its project titled “Catalyzing Growth for Women Economic Empowerment in District Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan,” with the support of UN Women Pakistan.
The session aimed to provide community members with a comprehensive understanding of the project’s objectives, scope, and anticipated impact. Participants were briefed on planned interventions designed to enhance women’s and girls’ economic participation, strengthen livelihoods, and create sustainable income-generating opportunities.
Special emphasis was placed on ensuring inclusive participation, including the meaningful involvement of transgender persons, and encouraging eligible community members to come forward as direct beneficiaries of the initiative. Speakers highlighted the importance of collective engagement, awareness-building, and community ownership in achieving long-term socio-economic progress.
Through such outreach activities, the initiative continues to foster confidence, inclusion, and expanded economic opportunities for women across District Sialkot.
